My name is Melba and I am a designer. And in this blog I share information about colors: how and where to choose them correctly, what are the palettes, how colors have different kinds of influence.

My articles will be useful to interior designers, web designers, psychologists, marketing experts and ordinary readers who are interested in the topic of color.

Color is a feature of the eye’s perception of different waves of light. Each wave corresponds to a spectrum, which in turn is a carrier of information.

Color is a wave of a certain kind of electromagnetic energy, which after perception by the eye and human brain is converted into a color sensation.

Color perception is not available to all animals on the Earth. Birds and primates have full multi-spectral vision, the others distinguish only some shades, for example, red.

The emergence of multispectral vision is related to eating habits. It is believed that it appeared in primates while searching for edible leaves and ripe fruits. In further evolution, color began to help us detect danger, memorize the terrain, distinguish plants, and determine the impending weather by the shades of clouds.

Color perception as a carrier of information has begun to play a great role in human life.
Color as a symbol. Information about objects or phenomena that have a certain tone united in an image, from which a symbol was formed. This symbol changes its meaning from situation to situation, but it is always understandable (it may not be conscious, but adopted by the subconscious).
